In the heart of the Savoie region, near the village of Chignin, lies Domaine Adrien Berlioz. A cousin of the renowned winemaker Gilles Berlioz, Adrien established his own estate in 2006 and has since dedicated himself to crafting authentic wines that reflect the unique terroir of the region.
With a total vineyard area of approximately 6.3 hectares, split between 4.5 hectares of white grape varieties and 1.8 hectares of reds, Adrien meticulously cultivates 17 micro-parcels. These plots, located on steep slopes with predominantly limestone and clay soils, contribute to the complexity and distinctiveness of his wines. He works with a range of local varieties, including Mondeuse, Jacquère, Altesse, and Roussanne, as well as rarer grapes such as Persan.
Adrien is deeply committed to sustainable and organic viticulture, ensuring that the vines thrive in harmony with their environment. He firmly believes that exceptional wine begins with healthy grapes, carefully tending to the land through manual plowing and cover cropping, encouraging deep root growth and maintaining biodiversity.
A particularly personal touch in Adrien’s winemaking is his tradition of naming each cuvée after individuals and stories that have shaped his life. This approach highlights his deep emotional connection to both his craft and the people who have influenced his journey.
Over the years, Adrien Berlioz's wines have gained increasing recognition for their purity, elegance, and sense of place. His dedication to craftsmanship and respect for nature make Domaine Adrien Berlioz a standout producer in the dynamic and evolving Savoie wine scene.
