In Vipava Valley, a hidden gem of Slovenian winemaking, Burja Estate is crafting some of the most exciting natural wines in the region. Founded by Primož Lavrenčič, the estate takes its name from the Burja wind, which sweeps through the valley, keeping the vines healthy and disease-free.

Primož is deeply committed to biodynamic farming and indigenous grape varieties, focusing on Malvazija, Zelen, and Rebula for whites, and Pokalca (Slovenian Blaufränkisch) and Refošk for reds. His wines are fermented with native yeasts, unfiltered, and minimally sulfured, resulting in pure, expressive, and textural wines.

Burja Estate has become a leading figure in Slovenia’s natural wine movement, producing terroir-driven, soulful wines that reflect the wild, windswept beauty of Vipava Valley.
